Michael Beaven
Transformation Programme Director, Governement UK, United Kingdom
Presentation cancelled on a short notice – Mike joined government in August 2011 as Director of the Transformation Programme at the Government’s Digital Service (GDS), after running a successful consulting business for three years specialising in large, complex and atypical programmes usually in the technology space. He was instrumental in the Guardian’s digital evolution from transforming technology provision to re-launching Guardian Soulmates in 2011. Prior to that he worked briefly for a small boutique consultancy firm with clients such as The Guardian, TfL and Aviva. All of that was proceeded by a career in line management in financial service technology, predominately with Lloyds Banking group where he oversaw key Y2K work stream, promoted the banks e-commerce capability to the city and moved stockbroking to a digital service.
As Director of the Digital Transformation Programme, working with 8 Government departments, Mike oversees the redesigning and rebuilding of 25 of the most significant transactions, making them simpler, clearer and faster to use.
